Community Contest - May the best wiki win

Does your wiki deserve a gold medal?

Do you have an awesome wiki you would like everyone to know about when they visit Wikia? Well now is your chance to tell us all about it!

You have until June 29 to let us know why your community should be featured on the main page of www.wikia.com. Please use the space below to tell us, in your most creative voice, why your wiki deserves to be on Wikia.com for two weeks in July. In 250 words or less, highlight why your wiki's content, design, growth and community make it special.

Wikis of all sizes and topics are encouraged to enter. Please remember to be a good Wikian, and don't leave any discouraging comments about other wikis. At 5:00pm Pacific time on June 29th, we will close the contest to entries. All entries must be submitted here in order to be considered. The winner will be announced in early July.

So chat with your community about your entry, then submit it here. Remember to provide links to examples you use, and while you wait to hear who the winner is, keep improving your wiki! We look forward to hearing lots of funny, interesting tidbits about all of the amazing wikis on Wikia!

    I am a bureaucrat on two very fantastic wikis, Thomas and Friends Wiki (http://ttte.wikia.com/wiki/Thomas_%26_Friends) and Primeval Wiki (http://primeval.wikia.com/wiki/Primeval_Wiki). The Thomas and Friends Wiki is very popular and sees the arrival of new users almost every day, we have a fantastic team of admins who are constantly checking up on the latest edits and keeping the wiki "right on track." As for the Primeval Wiki, it is a bit smaller, but it is also well equipped for new editors, with a crack team of admins, we're constantly patrolling the wiki and making sure that news on the upcoming season is up to date! Thank you very much for your time! May the best wiki win!

    I think the Dead Frontier Wiki deserves a spot at the Wikia.com front page because we represent and supply the community of an upcoming MMORPG with vital information, which has been extremely useful for the majority of players and will be even more so in the future.

    As Dead Frontier and the wiki along with it are about to be converted and soon based upon Dead Frontier's new 3D gameplay, the wiki and it's community will become an even more important knowledge database and promotion tool for Dead Frontier's current and future players. Dead Frontier is going to be the first high quality 3D Zombie MMO while also staying platform neutral and browser-based to serve the ever increasing community of Zombie and Horror game players in the best ways possible.


    About the wiki itself, the active amount of editors and articles is currently rather small (~ 200 articles) but we are uniting several of the best heads in the Dead Frontier community along with all other players to keep all of our content as confortable to understand, exact and updated as possible.

    While obviously we can't be perfect, we strive to improve the rather young wiki (soon to be 2 years at Wikia.com) and its informational content whenever people feel its necessary, hence we try to keep our articles along with the whole rest of the wiki at a high quality standard, both in terms of content, media and optical style.


    So, that'd be my attempt to promote my primary wiki, I hope that the resulting winners will be chosen well and may the best wiki win!

    Child's Play Wiki we have over 100 articles and growing filled with over hundreds of contributors, We are also the scene of the fanon of Child's Play with hundreds still creating concept and character articles making, We are included on user Fingernails of the twilight Saga wiki's horror template containing I Know What you Did Last Wiki, Scream, Elm Street, Evil dead, Friday the 13th and Prom Night wikis on the image of the psycho Marion of the shower.     In all honesty, I believe it should Red Dead Redemption Wiki. Most other active wikis have a really centralized wiki feel, in which one group of people makes that wiki about the editors rather than the subject of the wiki *cough* Total Drama wiki*cough* and Only a few can edit certain pages. But RDR wiki has a community in where both veterans and newbies are considered equal in editing status which is VERY APPEALING to new editors. If there ever was a wiki that deserved this it would be Red Dead Redemption wiki

    Tron Wiki has become the most popular source of Tron information on the Internet. The wiki is being constantly referenced in movie blogs such as Firstshowing.com and we focus on being complete and accurate. With a new movie sequel and video game coming this Fall, we can't wait for all the new articles and media to come in!

    I consider wikis as wondeful web-tools for research. I'm retired and have found research so rewarding! I use several wikis daily but the one I want to mention here is the Wheel of Time wiki (WOTwikia) at http://wot.wikia.com/wiki/A_beginning My son and I bonded to a greater degree, over the years, after posting and reading the massive amounts of information about the WOT series of books by Robert Jordan. The 13 books are voluminous in prose and it has much minutia that makes for fun trivia play, that can only be enhanced digitally, this is where WOTwikia excels! I imagine and look forward to the future when wikis routinely include video & audio and be included with all digital books by the publishers! Yes, this is my not so subtle hint to all publishers to create a digital database for public access.

    I think our wiki, Farmville Wiki(http://farmville.wikia.com/) deserves this as we have worked very hard to build it.It has taken tears,sweat,and blood,specially blood to build it as MANY users have left the wiki.However,we still do our best and happily greet new members.

    Burnopedia should be featured on the main page of Wikia for a multitude of reasons. It has nearly 1000 articles making it the largest sports and racing wiki on Wikia Gaming, it has a large breadth of detailed articles on Burnout Paradise including walkthroughs on many aspects of the game (see Discovery (Burnout Paradise)), and we are working on improving our content for previous Burnout games. We use images to make the site visually appealing and easy to navigate (see Vehicles (Burnout Paradise)), and our sidebar is well-organized and has a multitude of links to different parts of the site. Burnopedia has mostly friendly and helpful users as well as five administrators/assistants who all have varying knowledge about Burnout, wikicoding, and the use of "one" in sentences. A standout feature at our wiki is the Burnopedia Clan which meets weekly to play in Burnout Paradise and attracts users who would not normally visit the site. Often our clan members turn out to be important members of our community. Burnopedia has a small but steady editing of content and a larger steady contribution to discussions about Burnout, our wiki, our clan, and other topics. Our community is currently working on Project: Rebirth to improve the visuals, content, and community infrastructure of Burnopedia. While we hate to think of Burnout players who don't know of this great source of knowledge we are excited about the prospect of new editors, ideas, and viewpoints.

    I'm unregistered, but the Fallout Wiki deserves it for sure. I go there for all my fallout/fallout 2 needs and occasionally Fallout 3 if i ever get around to it.
