Hello, After I confident with the stability of the underlying script, now I need inputs/suggestions/reviews from outside parties. I developed a site (based on my other old-site http://ytconv.net/) to download (and convert) from various video websites sources such as Youtube, DailyMotion, Vimeo, etc. The website URL is: http://vrank.org/ What do you think of the website? Do you think there are some features that should I add? What should I do to improve the design but keeping it as minimalistic as possible? Suggestions of anything regarding this particular website of mine is always welcomed! PS.: I try to keep the design simple, because a lot of my users (of the old site) is still using Opera Mini on Java-based Phone and some of them is disabled and using screen-reader to access the site.
For downloading a video a person needs to enter the URL, then the site shows you several options of the video and audio format. Selecting one will redirect you to another page, you will have to wait for simply 5 seconds and then it will get downloaded. On the download page it's written IDM, downthemall will help you for a smooth download. My friend IDM has the built-in functionality to download those videos directly from YouTube. There won't be any purpose of downloading from this site. Add something meaningful to your site. The domain is not according to the website purpose. Stop those annoying ads. It simply lowers down the reputation of your site. I admire your efforts for the site. I also appreciate that you have designed the site according to the viewers' purpose. The site converts itself the video to the audio format, that is a plus point. I will visit your site for downloading audio for sure. Thanks for the share. Good luck.
Thank you for the insight. Yes, I know that IDM has the built-in function for downloading most of the video streaming/hosting sites. Vrank.org will be useless for IDM users (except if they want to extract the audio from the video). Do you have some idea to "add something meaningful to my site"? Domain --> I'm agree with you . Well, actually it's an old domain of mine and I have no plan to use it, so, I think: why not use it for a new script?! Ads --> that pop-up? Woops, must be carried away from the old-site's code. You can provide your visitors cropping of audio and video before they download them. I know it's a big thing and requires too much coding. But, that's a better functionality. Online MP3 and Video Cutter.
I'm glad you like it. You can even get the lyrics of the songs or videos. These small functionalities can serve a big purpose.
